Announcing Our New Interim Executive Director, Scott Rossiter
A Message from the Board
We are proud to announce the appointment of Scott Rossiter as the Interim Executive Director of Glacier Peak Institute. This decision reflects our commitment to thoughtful leadership and a smooth transition during this important moment in our organization’s growth. Scott brings with him a wealth of nonprofit leadership experience and a deep understanding of our mission, values, and operations.
Scott currently serves as GPI Development Director, where he has laid the foundation for a strong and sustainable fundraising program. Since stepping into that role, he has built meaningful donor relationships, improved development systems, and begun aligning our fundraising strategies with long-term organizational goals. During this interim period, Scott will continue leading development efforts while stepping into the broader responsibilities of Executive Director—ensuring continuity, momentum, and steady leadership for the organization.
Scott’s prior experience includes leading Hunger Prevention Services at Volunteers of America Western Washington, where he oversaw four food banks and the Snohomish County Food Distribution Center, distributing emergency food across the region. He also served in senior leadership and development roles with Skagit Habitat for Humanity, Warm Beach Senior Community, and Warm Beach Camp & Conference Center. Throughout his career, Scott has successfully guided organizations through periods of transition, growth, and strategic planning.
As Interim Executive Director, Scott will lead an organizational assessment, support the recruitment process for our next permanent Executive Director, and help prepare GPI for its next phase of strategic growth. His collaborative approach and established relationships with staff, board, and community stakeholders position him to provide steady, values-driven leadership during this transition.
“It’s an honor to serve GPI in this interim role,” Scott shares. “I’ve been inspired every day by the heart, creativity, and commitment of this team and our community—and I’m excited to help steward this next phase of our journey together. With strong relationships and a clear mission, we’re well positioned to build on what’s working and imagine what’s possible.”
We also extend our deep gratitude to Oak Rankin for his leadership and commitment. Oak’s vision and care have brought us to this exciting juncture, and we are grateful for the foundation he built.
Join GPI for our Meet the Interim ED Event on Saturday, July 12, 5-7pm at River Time Brewing in Darrington. This will be a casual drop-in opportunity to meet Scott, ask questions and learn more about the transition.
Please join us in congratulating Scott on this new role. We are confident that his leadership will serve our mission well in the months ahead.
With appreciation,
Garret Gladsjo
